Mr. & Mrs. Jones is the sequel to my novella, Girl Code. This story picks up where Girl Code leaves off and follows Melodee and Amir as they transition from lovers to committed spouses living in Hollywood.

______

SYNOPSIS:

Welcome to Hollywood. A town that challenges true love in an industry where relationships survive off illusions.   Melodee Delon and Amir Jones went from being just friends to passionate lovers. But will the change from lovers to committed spouses be as much of a success?

volving from a nobody to a somebody overnight sent Melodee’s world spinning. Life changed for her the moment she accepted Amir’s marriage proposal in front of millions. Their whirlwind romance continues without a hitch, but not without its ups and tragic downs.

Their love blooms as husband and wife, true. But an unexpected event strains the trust in their relationship and threatens their happy ending soon after they say, “I do.”   Moving to a zip code where glitz and glamour is protocol and being strategically genuine is a priority does a great job at complicating things between them. This forces Melodee out of her element and makes her underestimate people’s true motives. With Amir by her side though, she’s willing to adjust and face her new reality in an industry where gossip mavens give rumors the same respect as facts. But what happens when the one thing that almost pulled them apart the first time, loyalty, tests their bond once again?

Can their relationship and love for each other survive the turbulence of being married in Hollywood? Or will the hedonistic illusion of Hollyweird suck them in then spit them out with no love left to salvage?

Catch up with a couple who will steal your heart and take you on an emotional rollercoaster one last time in the sequel to Girl Code… Mr. & Mrs. Jones!

This book was so amazing. The good, the bad, the ugly and the unforgivable thing the author did to me. The book was such a page turner even when I wanted to give it a break to grasp certain events I couldn’t. Upon getting to chapter 7 and seeing the tiny disagreements and so on I just knew something bad was going to happen. I had that feeling and just couldn’t shake while I read. One of my favourite parts of the book was Amir giving Jason dust in that restaurant that sent me but I was so proud. And Sheena is obsessed clearly. Like mind your business girl their choices are theirs. And I feel like she was intentionally trying to be messing with that thing she told Mel about Chloe Rae. I feel like she was trying to sew seeds of doubt in Melodee’s mind. I loved Denise’s character but she was steady suggesting a character path for Melodee and that surely tickled me. It was the audacity for me. Brookelyn’s supporting characters are wild but I am here for it. Then there’s the saddest part of the book. Anthony’s death shook me. Like I literally cried. I’m mad about that cause I really wanted Anthony to have his own story but you shot my dreams down just like that. Omg this hits like when Lennox died. And yes I am taking it personal like I took Lennox personal. I feel like Melodee made a mistake keeping such a secret for Anthony given the fact that previously he was involved in that altercation where a gun was pulled on him however I understood why she did it as well and Amir’s reaction to it all was valid. Maybe things would’ve been different if he was told. Maybe he could have talked Anthony out of it. I also like how Brookelyn touched on gang and gun violence in Chicago. After the fact as much as I love Amir I can say he was being an asshole to Mel and she didn’t deserve that. His way of handling was self destructive but realistic as that is how most people in the real world handle pain. When I initially saw Panama I knew he was full of shit and I also knew nothing good could come from Melodee meeting up with him whew chile. Lowkey wanted to see Amir give him that work honestly 😂😂😂😂😂 and then Amir accused Melodee I was all but ready to throw my phone away but I figured he would do that but it was wrong of him. He shouldn’t have jumped to that conclusion. He was treating her unfairly and no amount of grief was an excuse for his behavior. It was absolutely disgusting. When she left I didn’t feel sorry for him cause in my eyes he deserved it. Her leaving before the anniversary was petty but I was here for it because Amir was being a complete ass. But that’s what marriage is about at the end of the day nothing is perfect so this was the perfect portrayal of a marriage. Melodee eavesdropping on the conversation with Amir and Deedra was funny helped to lighten the mood of the book after so many heavy moments I loved it. I like how he came running for her though and was about to say that he was wrong. Nothing is more sexy than a man taking accountability for his actions. And make up sex was chefs kiss. Miss Deedra’s reaction floored me. It was so cute 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love her. Ecstatic that they worked out their issues and became stronger. The book had a beautiful ending and some bomb sex scenes. Brookelyn has an amazing writing style and write the most beautiful stories that flow so effortlessly.
